Lead Engineer

Lead Engineer - Low-Line Head Unit hardware

Working in the Electrical Engineering Department and be responsible for the design, development and project management of key infotainment computing modules ("Head Units"). The successful candidate will lead a small focused team of engineers writing specifications, developing infotainment solutions alongside key suppliers, conducting design verification testing and leading issues resolution.

Key Responsibilities
*Technical and Project Management leadership of the low line head unit hardware, to enable the wider infotainment feature and performance requirements to be met within cost targets.
*Responsible for defining and leading technical workstreams in-house and with external supplier partners, working in conjunction with the hardware and software teams, ensuring the Low hardware core development programme is delivered on time and on quality to internal and external customers.
*Project manage supplier(s) in the definition and delivery of the above systems to identified milestones, including commercial and technical issues resolution.
*Day to day leadership of the definition, realisation and launch of NGI low, through all aspects of the project: leading the engineering tasks, driving suppliers in product development & maintenance, specification authoring, design verification, issues resolution, releasing, virtual and physical builds, feature development and sign-off.
*Responsible for driving continuous improvements within area of responsibility - quality improvements, process improvements, cost improvements, margin improvement.

Skills, experience and qualifications required
Required
*Previous experience in working in design/development across at least two of software, electronics ability to develop a plan, execute and keep on track.
*Previous experience of technical & team leadership (internal, supplier or both)
*A good understanding of specification creation and approvals, the change management process (PACN and WERS processes), Design Verification (eFDVS/RMDV), Design FMEA and AIMS processes are required in conjunction with experience of other lead engineer related activities.
*Applicants must be educated to Degree level and must be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and be able to build strong relationships and trust with teams members.

Desirable
*Engineering knowledge of Infotainment systems, multiplex bus systems, software specification and design, function, performance, production and manufacturing requirements.
