Lead Electrical Power Engineer

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a LEAD ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEER to join our client in Baytown, TX.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Job Responsibilities:
- With little instruction, perform electrical power engineering for industrial facilities including: low, medium and high voltage design related to substation replacement projects.
- Specify switchgear, transformer, high voltage Switches, coordinate vendor drawings. Create electrical equipment arrangements, grounding design, lightning protection, schematic diagrams, lighting, material takeoffs.
- Apply NEC to design including raceway sizing, cable sizing, hazardous area considerations. Prepare calculations as required to support design.
- Supervise groups of engineers and designers to support project goals.
- Must be able to travel or relocate to client site in Baytown, TX and work with site engineering staff in industrial plant environment (tobacco free site).

Job Qualifications:
- PE license by exam preferred Candidates with a TX PE would be ideal or be willing to pursue reciprocity.
- 15 years experience minimum in performance of engineering of electrical power systems for industrial facilities
- Ability to lead and monitor design/drafting of others
- Minimal supervision required. Ability to work in a team environment
- Able to assemble estimates and work to control budgets
- Able to perform effective field survey
- Experience with SmartPlant Electrical is a plus.
- MicroStation (2d and 3d) and AutoCad experience helpful.
