Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer Job

LEAD ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER needed for an ongoing contract opportunity, which could go direct, with Yoh's client located in Greenville, SC.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for supervision of staff who will produce power, lighting and grounding plans, control panel design, development of instrument specification sheets and the generation of an Instrument Index.
- Responsible for the production of single line diagrams, motor schematics, including interpretation of vendor-provided wiring documents. Responsible for supervision of staff who will produce cable and conduit schedules, instrument location plans, I/O layouts, loop diagrams, I/O schematics, instrument wiring details and network architecture drawings.
- Responsible for the development of electrical and control systems equipment specifications.
- Must develop and adhere to project schedules, budgets and quality requirements. Must be able to work with other disciplines in the development of the scope and estimate with MTO's. Must follow the established change management philosophy of the project and utilize the PCN and change order procedures.
- Manage personnel staff assigned to the position - handle QA/QC audits during the execution of the work and mentoring feedback to assignment personnel.
- Interprets and applies applicable codes, standards, procedures, guidelines, and specifications either utilizing customer furnished documentation, D PE preferred
- 15+ years of proven experience (chemical industry project work).
- Complete understanding of voltage drop, electric trace, load calculations, lightning protection, DCS/PLC/SIS hardware specifications and installation requirements.
- Smartplant, PDS, PDMS experience is a plus. SIL training a plus.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of low and medium voltage power distribution systems/equipment, motor control design, lighting design/systems, complex grounding, lightning protection, VFD application.
- Working knowledge of DCS and PLC systems, understanding of process data and instrument application.
- Ability to ensure design is in compliance with customer and company procedures and standards.
- Ensure all quality control procedures have been followed prior to issuing packages.
- Must be able to work in the field and provide effective field walk-downs and verification of existing and new systems.
