ROLE DESCRIPTION - SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER PYTHON/DJANGO FOR COMPARISON CLUSTER

location: Amsterdam
duration: 6 months +
start: Between now and two months

Betreft een nieuwe vacature voor een ontwikkel team. We zijn op zoek naar een senior Back End developer met excellente Python/Django skills en met ervaring in ontwikkeling op E-commerce. De senioriteit en zelfstandigheid in het team (er werken nog 2 Back End developers) is hoog dus qua persoonlijke eigenschappen is het van zeer groot belang dat deze persoon in staat is anderen te challengen, met goede initiatieven komt en snel kan schakelen. Diegene dient als aanvulling op het team te hebben dat hij/zij dusdanig communicatief vaardig is dat hij/zij mensen mee kan krijgen en goed kan met de business kan communiceren, wat een aandachtspunt is in het huidige team.

The Senior Software developer will act as the development lead for one or multiple dev teams working on our software products. Our developers are the brains behind the design, installation, testing and maintenance of software systems. Much more than just playing around with codes, if you work with software you'll play an important part in making a business more efficient and helping to provide a better IT service.

Working relationships
* Product Development Managers - Internal Customer and product owners
* Back End Developers - working very closely with dev teams responsible for the web.
* Project Managers - working very closely with project managers effectively working across multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.

Responsibilities
* Defines site objectives by analysing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
* Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
* Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
* Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server Scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information Servers.
* Creates multimedia applications by using authoring tools.
* Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
* Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills and Qualifications
* Proven Senior Experience in web development with Python/Django
* Must be detail oriented, a self-starter and a strong team player
* Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organisational skills
* Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
* Strong estimating and risk assessment skills
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and negotiate with others
* Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
* Agile Oriented
* Knowledge of REST API
* Knowledge of High Traffic and High Availability sites or solutions

Dutch language skills is a requirement
