Lead Developer 5 month contract role, possible scope for extension

The role will require you to through BPSS and then SC clearance

Our Central Government client are looking to to enhance their information systems development into a core capability. Software design and delivery will be as important to the core being of the organisation. The role of Lead Developer will be to help define and establish the team and its processes. with two primary objectives. redefining development, agile development, establishing development procedures and standards. maintenance, upgrades, working with external suppliers.

Main Duties/Responsibilities.
Software Development Development Standards, Policies and procedures. Work in consort with the Enterprise Architecture Group to ensure that standards, principles and policies are maintained and adhered to. Ensure adherence to standards of best practice (eg source code control etc). Co-ordinate the team's day-to-day technical activities. Mentor the other technical staff. Transfer knowledge and experience to Developers outside the team. Contribute, alongside other development peers with the Service and Support group, in setting and raising the standards of development. Potentially provide assurance on 3rd party developments

Experience Required - Agile, C# .NET development and SharePoint

The application of a number of the below following technologies:
1 Data layer. Physical schema design. Logical schema design. Choice of locking strategy. SQL. Object-relational mapping (eg LINQ to SQL, Entity Framework)
2 Application layer (business logic, integration, workflow, reporting, authentication). .NET 2.0 - .NET 4.0 or later (C#, WCF for web services). Business process management, particularly based on Workflow Foundation, for example K2. WS-* standards or RESTful web services. Kerberos, Active Directory. Caching technologies and approaches
3 User Interface layer. ASP.NET MVC and Web Forms, HTML, JavaScript. MS SharePoint Services; SharePoint Portal; Web Parts
4 Data transfer and manipulation. XML; XSLT, XPath, XQuery v. Test-driven development. Unit testing and unit test tools. Automated test tools and methods
5 Build and Continuous Integration tools and environment tools. SubVersion and Jenkins or equivalent. VMWare Lab Manager

Desirable:
Formal Qualifications Required.
Familiarity with Industry and Professional Standards, including, corporate change management methods, ITIL, TOGAF, Cobit. NHibernate, MS VS equivalent of Cruise Control, MS VS Team Foundation, MS VS Lab Management Business. Proficient in the methods and techniques associated with planning and monitoring progress of projects, including, product/work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, earned value, resource analysis, conflict resolution. Proficiency in the methods and techniques for reporting progress and financial compliance against an agreed plan. MCSD - Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. ISEB Systems Development Diploma/ISEB ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
