Lead Datacentre Specialist

This organisation is a leader in its industry and has experienced consistent growth in recent years. They are about to embark on a major Datacentre (DC) program and require a Lead Datacentre Specialist to play a key role in this new initiative.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited too:
Lead new Datacentre initiative from the organisations perspective, working with an external consultancy who are providing Data Centre Architecture review and recommendations.
Lead requirements gathering with business, IT and any other relevant parties/business lines
Provide advice on and review of Datacentre solutions design, technologies and implementation/methodologies
Provide guidance and assistance with structured decision making for best DC option for the organisation where it be Co-location, fully outsourced, IAAS, build/owning etc
Lead the review of the Data Centre - future state architecture deliverable from the consultants and other future deliverables.
Understand and challenge proposed architecture for DC to ensure it fits organisations requirements
Challenge the organisations internal business units for the inclusion of criticality of applications.
Assist with the development of business case for the new DC initiative, justification of costs and ROI through business case.
Provide guidance and recommendations for DC solutions accounting for core infrastructure refresh program.
Assist with developing tender requirements and potential review of tenders for appropriate DC solutions.
To be successful in this position you will possess:
Significant experience in the delivery of large scale datacentre solutions for enterprise level organisations either as a Technical PM, Lead Infrastructure Architect, Infrastructure Technology Specialist, DC Consultant or other relevant role etc
Strong experience either working with a systems integrator or with a enterprise company on the IT or business side completing analysis, gathering requirements and proposing solutions for Datacentres.
Significant experience in reviewing DC solutions, including architecture/designs, technologies and processes and providing appropriate recommendations.
Strong understanding of DC current technologies, best practice DC set-up structures/methodologies and ability to understand current and future trends.
Ability to communicate at all levels of stakeholders within an organisation, negotiate with multiple parties and influence/drive successful outcomes.

This is a unique role where the Lead DC specialist will be key in the overall review, provide recommendations and be part of the delivery of the DC solution. They will work with senior level business stakeholders, systems integrators, technology vendors and the Group IT management team.
