LEAD DATA INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT

A Leading Financial Services Company are expanding their Investment Accountant Data Team and are therefore recruiting for a Lead Data Investment Accountant to motivate and guide a team of accountants that are providing meaningful and accurate investment data under IFRS and Solvency II

This new opportunity is based in Bristol, however this Leading Financial Services Company are renowned for creating new ways to improve peoples work-life balance, so therefore offer flexible hours and working from home once a week.

THE SUCCESSFUL LEAD DATA INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

- Owner of Investment Data held within Asset Data Warehouse and responsible for data sourcing, validation and reporting.
- Ensure the robustness and accuracy of investment accounting data for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for individual entities.
- Liaise with IT and Third party service and data providers for oversight and control over asset data
- Liaise with internal teams for example, reporting team and actuarial to understand data requirements, and provide data solutions with support from IT.
- Manage a team of 6-8 individuals, using appropriate leadership traits, to engage and motivate staff to get the best results
- Develop and maintain an appropriate investment data control framework and governance
- Deal with ad hoc queries from the Finance teams and auditors relating to investment accounting.
- The role is also expected to provide advice on investment data matters and liaise with accounting and actuarial colleagues outside of IAin particular asset data attributes
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong understanding of IT technology around databases, data validations and reporting
- Prior staff management experience is important
- Strong report writing, and presentation skills and crucially the ability to adapt content and tone appropriately to different stakeholders (Internal, External, Third Party, Auditors, Regulators for instance)
- A knack of being able to analyse data quickly, spot trends and prioritise the key areas to focus the team on
- Good relationship management skills. Able to deal effectively with key contacts across all business areas, both internally and externally.
