Role: Lead Cost EstimatorLocation: AberdeenRole Type: Contract. Immediate start, 12 month with extensionsThe client is a leading global consultant in multiple disciplines across the oil and gas value chain. An ambitious and growing company with a proven track record, this is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in projects spanning a wide range of geographical and technical areas.Constantly raising the bar and with impressive financial backing, the client is seeking an experienced Lead Cost Estimator to manage and perform front end conceptual level cost estimates. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and able to develop and maintain cost estimating measures in conjunction with the London based team.Working within an organisation who are committed to continually supporting, nurturing and developing you professionally,the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing conceptual level estimates for onshore, offshore and subsea facilities, both Brownfield and Greenfield, utilising in-house estimating tools.Key Responsibilities:Interacting with study management and design team to obtain accurate estimate information and with client engineers to agree estimate bases and exclusionsEnsure information received is accurate in estimating costsCheck quoted costs against actual equipment and material prices to ensure accuracyMaintain correct and consistent allowances in output and develop local cost estimating policies which are aligned with corporate guidelinesAct as company and client point of focus for Aberdeen cost estimationManage and allocate resources for company's estimation requirements, including potential for regional office developmentFurther develop in-house cost estimation tools in conjunction with the central cost estimation teamCommunicate with other offices to keep cost estimation methods consistent Key Skills Required:Degree qualified (in relevant field)Strong Oil and Gas industry backgroundPrevious experience and successful track record in conceptual level cost estimationGood knowledge of estimation principles, techniques and industry standardsKnowledge of stage gate project delivery process and build up of applicable phase estimatesHave experience in cost estimates for both Brownfield and Greenfield onshore and offshore projects
