As a member of the Pharmacy department, you will lead a team of 8 Pharmacists, Technicians and pharmacy porters across 3 pharmacies split over 1 site.You will have access to fantastic benefits and have CPD support and clinical lecture programme learning.

Job Description
The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, safe and effective oncology pharmacy service together with the Lead Technician (including aseptic and dispensary services).

They will maintain and develop the highest standards of patient-focused care and be expected to use their experience and initiative to develop the role and lead the department forward with respect to its clinical service. This role is a 50% split between clinical, hands on cover and team management.
This a fixed term , maternity cover contract for 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months.This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, which will require flexibilty with shifts.
Shifts will consist of:
•Late shift- 8pm once very 2 weeks
•On call- once every 6-8 weeks for 1 full week (based at home)
•Weekends- Saturdays and Sundays, once every 6-8 weeks.

•To oversee all ward based clinical services to ensure it is efficient, effective and safe, and also overall responsibility for clinical Departments.
•To evaluate and re-shape existing clinical pharmacy services to give emphasis to patient centred care.
•To collaborate with senior clinical mangers to formulate and implement strategy for clinical services.
•To manage the training and development of all clinical pharmacy staff and act as a tutor for staff, when required .
•Day to day running of the pharmacy department
•To act as expert knowledge base in clinical pharmacy practice development.
•To provide clinical pharmacy input to the Clinical Governance Committee, Medicines Management Committee and MAC, directly or indirectly via the Pharmacy Manager

Skills & Experience
•Registration with The General Pharmaceutical Council
•Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (preferable)
•Extensive experience of working within a relevant hospital setting
•Post graduate clinical qualification e.g. diploma/masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
•Team management experience
•Knowledge of Pharmacy Systems

About the Individual
The successful candidate will be an experienced pharmacist coming from a hospital setting. They will maintain a high level of clinical practice and have the ability to deal with complex clinical pharmacy issues in patient care. They will be an excellent leader and role model and have exceptional communication, verbal and documentation skills. The applicant will also have a passion for customer service and a desire to provide an exceptional patient experience
