Upto £54k per annum, pro rata

The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, safe and effective oncology pharmacy service together with the Lead Technician (including aseptic and dispensary services).

The successful candidate will maintain and develop the highest standards of patient-focused care and be expected to use their experience and initiative to develop the role and lead the department forward with respect to its clinical service. This role is a 50% split between clinical, hands on cover and team management.

This is a fixed term contract for 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months, 37.5 hours per week, which will require flexibility with shifts.

The right candidate will oversee all ward based clinical services to ensure it is efficient, effective and safe, and also overall responsibility for clinical Departments, evaluate and re-shape existing clinical pharmacy services to give emphasis to patient centred care, collaborate with senior clinical mangers to formulate and implement strategy for clinical services, manage the training and development of all clinical pharmacy staff and act as a tutor for staff, when required, act as expert knowledge base in clinical pharmacy practice development, provide clinical pharmacy input to the Clinical Governance Committee, Medicines Management Committee and MAC, directly or indirectly via the Pharmacy Manager

The successful candidate must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council, be a Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (preferable), have extensive experience of working within a relevant hospital setting, Post graduate clinical qualification e.g. diploma/masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent, Team management experience, knowledge of Pharmacy Systems
