Lead Clinical Pharmacist

Job Description

Together alongside the Lead Technician, you would be responsible for the provision of an oncology pharmacy service (including aseptic and dispensary services) that is comprehensive, safe and effective.

While maintaining and developing the highest standards of patient-focused care, you will be expected to use your experience and initiative to develop the role and lead the department forward with respect. The role is split in-between clinical, hands on cover and team management.

* Overseeing all ward based clinical services and ensuring that it is efficient, effective and safe, as well as overall responsibility for clinical departments.
* Evaluating and re-shaping the existing clinical pharmacy services to be able to give emphasis to patient centred care.
* Collaborating with senior clinical mangers and formulating and implement strategy for clinical services.
* Managing the training and development of all of the clinical pharmacy staff, acting as a tutor for staff, when and if required.
* Usual daily running of the pharmacy department.
* Acting as the expert knowledge base within the clinical pharmacy practice development.
* Providing clinical pharmacy input to the Clinical Governance Committee, Medicines Management Committee and MAC, (directly or indirectly) via the Pharmacy Manager
