Lead Business Analyst
A highly experienced Business Analyst with leadership skills who is responsible for shaping projects and programs, verifying that Business Analysis activity is in line with project/program objectives. Leads the elicitation of requirement and translation of them into solution requirements to ensure their implementation throughout the project life cycle. This role will involve the management of other Business Analysts to deliver the required deliverables as part of a highly complex, often global project or program.
Understands and is able to apply the different delivery approaches (Waterfall, SCRUM, Lean) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with internal requirements/framework.
Functions
- Leads the Business Analysis content and activities for program/strategic projects
- Able to adapt and apply different delivery methodologies including SCRUM, Waterfall and Lean
- Verifies content for large/high risk projects/programs in line with strategy. Conducting feasibility studies to identify best solution
- Supports program manager in building Business Case, including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope and development of a high level plan
- Oversees all Business Analysis for the program/project/business unit
- Produces requirement specification and outline solution design documents throughout the project life cycle, incorporating change requests and finalization of requirements documentation
- Facilitation of strategy sessions to ensure successful outcome in addition to ensuring outcomes are in line with overall group strategy
- Drafting and maintaining Business Analysis vision, mission, strategic plans, goals and measures in relation to project/program/business unit
- Documents the business architecture
- Manages the KPI measurement of implemented solution and conducts route cause analysis if benefits not achieved
- Manages the analysis of requirement risk, traceability Matrix and prioritizes requirements
- Performs quality review checks on solution including benchmark analysis if required
- Communicates at high level through different mediums at all levels
Business Accountabilities
Leading the successful completion of business analysis of projects ie:
- Selecting appropriate processes required to meet the project objectives
- Leading the BA content for program/strategic projects or business unit
- Using a defined approach that can be adapted to meet requirements
- Managing and planning the team of Business Analysts to ensure requirements achieved
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate communication and engagement with stakeholders/sponsor
- Complying with requirements to meet stakeholder/sponsor needs and expectations
- Balancing the competing constraints of business need, services, technology and quality to produce the specified product, service or result with minimal change requests required
- Promoting the Business Analyst profession abroad
- Supporting, training, performing quality checks and coaching the next generation of Business Analysts
Education
Bachelor´s degree (or equivalent) with 14 or more years of experience in related field or 17 or more years of experience in related field
13 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst including 5 or more years working on significant/high risk projects or programs, with a proven track record of delivery
Required: Worked on projects for various business communities/areas within the insurance sector
Preferred: Background in Financial Services
