Lead Application Engineer/Application Architect

Our client is looking for a great application engineer/application architect to design a new global payment system and payment engines for online and foreign currency transactions. The lead application engineer/application architect is responsible for the fixed solutions, quality, performance, and integration in the system landscape.

Responsibilities of the lead application engineer/application architect are: -
-Ensure the performance of the application matches the performance of DBMS DB2
-Prepare unexpected scenarios and find solutions of disruptions
-Act as a sparring partner of the technical architects and lead developers

To be considered for the lead application engineer/application architect role you must have: -
-At least 5 years of experience working in large and complex projects
-5-10 years of experience developing applications
-Experience with QA in projects
-Excellent knowledge and experience with Z-Platforms ( LPAR, Sysplex, CICS, CICSplex, Cobol, MQ Queue Sharing Group, DB2 on Z, DB2 data sharing group, ConnectDirect, Tivoli, Indesca, Universal Command, GDPS, Unicode, load libraries, Java on Z, WebSphere on Z, Coupling facility)
-Knowledge of IBM Mainframe
-Experience with DataPower (CICS web services)
-Experience with DevOps and Configuration Management (Endevor, deployment automation)
-Experience with monitoring on Z
-Experience with Network Resilience, Integration patterns between modules on Z, Error Handling, Cobol coding Guidelines
-Knowledge of (IBM) application development and interaction between infrastructure and Middleware
-Linux knowledge, development and administration of infrastructure and Middleware, is highly advantageous
