Lead Aerodynamics Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a Lead Aerodynamics Engineer to work in Hampshire. This role is for an experienced Aerodynamicist to work on cutting edge design of Wind Turbine blades. You should have previous experience of designing and modelling complex aerodynamic shapes, possibly from roles in Formula 1 or Aerospace. You will be working for one of the world leaders in wind power solutions with wind turbine installations in over 65 countries. You will be involved with and responsible for the development and design of Wind Turbine Blades from concept through to production. You will be involved in a team striving to identify, develop and provide new and innovative technology solutions to facilitate the process of bringing the next generation of wind turbine blades to life. You will be working for an organisation that is growing their aerodynamic capabilities as they see this as an area where they can gain competitive advantages. Requirements: * Solid theoretical background within aerodynamics * Good knowledge of CFD technology, capabilities and limitations * Hands-on experience of CFD post-processors * Exposure to modern CFD post-processing techniques * Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems Nice to have - * Exposure to composite manufacturing * Exposure to 6-Sigma and DFSS methodologies * Exposure or understanding of wind turbine design and optimisation * Experience of fast paced iterative design process If you have the required experience and would be interested in working for one of the world leaders in wind power please get in touch with me ASAP on 01189 565 555.
