Lay Chair, St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group

NHS St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which is the local face of the NHS in St Helens, was established on 1st April 2013, through the Health & Social Care Act 2012 to plan, design, commission and procure health services for our 193,000 registered patients.

We are a dynamic CCG, which is clinically led, with patients at the centre.

The CCG represents the 37 GP practices in our geographical area.

With our highly motivated member practices and staff, we are ambitious to meet the challenges of the changing NHS as high performing CCG. In order to fulfil this we wish to appoint a new Lay Chair to the organisation and its Governing Body on the retirement of Bill Guest, current Lay Chair, to continue to provide strategic leadership in the delivery of our aspirations, ultimately to make a difference for our local population.

As Lay Chair, you will have substantial experience of leadership within a professional field, providing a dynamic yet challenging approach, having strong political awareness and the ability to bring perspective and drive to the CCG.

Applications are now invited from interested parties who are either registered with a St Helens GP, a local St Helens resident and / or have a direct link with or working relationship within the borough, meeting the criteria as described within the Job

The term of office will be for two-years in the first instance, subject to a six month probationary period, with rolling annual renewal thereafter.
