ROLE SUMMARY
This position is for a lawyer to join an existing team of three lawyers in a department of 13 qualified and non qualified staff. Responsible for advising all areas of the business within a worldwide financial services organisation on a wide range of operational and regulatory matters relating to credit cards, payment services and insurance. In addition to supporting the business in advising on existing and new products and Practices, your input will be invaluable in terms of new marketing initiatives, advising the business on legal risk and supporting regulatory and compliance matters. The successful candidate would be expected to hit the ground running and would enjoy responsibility and significant client contact from the start. A proactive approach

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Advising the business on consumer credit, payment services, data protection and insurance matters
* Advising the business on compliance with OFT, FCA and Lending Code requirements
* Advising on advertising requirements and approving marketing literature for new products
* Reviewing and approving customer communications
* Liaising with support partners in Finance and Compliance
* Ability to analyse,interpret and advise on current changes in the financial services regulatory environment

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
* Qualified lawyer
* Consumer Credit Act/Data Protection Act/PSD experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Attention to detail
* Team player
* Ability to balance multiple priorities

Preferred:
* In house experience
* Credit card and or financial services background
* Experience of FCA-regulated business
