EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Knowledge and experience of Public Procurement Law
- Essential Knowledge and Experience of Commercial Law
- Essential Experience of Advising Public Sector/Central Government clients
- Desirable Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales Availability to start immediately

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide robust advice to the programme
- Advise on the development and review of regulatory codes
- Provide legal risk mitigation advice to the programme
- Provide legal advice in answer to complex compliance enquiries from external stakeholders
- High quality advice on enforcement processes and procedures.
- Support face to face negotiations to enable and where necessary enforce compliance
- Share best practice and develop knowledge management

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES:

- To provide legal advice and assistance in relation to: -Procurement law -State aid and competition issues
- The drafting of commercial agreements and contracts
- Intellectual property and branding issues
- Provide commercial legal advice to the Department

ADDITIONAL:

- Commercial lawyer with sound knowledge and experience of Procurement Law, contracts
- Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts and Intellectual Property.
- Experience in Public Law is desirable but not essential.
