LAS SHO Trauma & Orthopaedics

The Trust consists of three hospital sites, employing over 3.500 staff serves a population of approximately 450,000.

The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services, including emergency department, acute medicine, and emergency surgery; elective surgery in many specialties.

The Orthopaedic Department provides an integrated Orthopaedic and Trauma service andconsists of two 28-bed wards for in-patient and day cases. The other facilities include but aren't limited to state-of-the-art twin operating theatres, x-ray suite, orthotic out-patient suite. The department also has one of the best productive research and audit programmes and assists doctors achieve publication presentation both national and internationally.

As the SHO you will work a full shift pattern and share out of hours cross cover for nights and weekends with the general surgical teams on a 1:10 basis.

In return you will be appointed as a full time Trauma and Orthopaedic SHO and will be expected to integrate within the team in order to provide a complete and high quality service.

In order to be considered for this position is it essential for candidates to be registered with the GMC or have eligibility for the registration.
