Laboratory Transition Coordinator for Multinational Institution in Aus

WE ARE LOOKING FOR LABORATORY TRANSITION COORDINATOR TO WORK AT OUR MULTINATIONAL CLIENT IN AUSTRIA.

TASKS:

A consultancy for a Transition Coordinator to be Embedded within the Enhancing Capabilities of the Safeguards Analytical Services (ECAS) Project Management Group (PMG) to ensure the smooth transfer of laboratory activities, related infrastructure and security from the existing Analytical Laboratory to the newly constructed Nuclear Material Laboratory (NML).

The Transition Coordinator will work closely with the laboratory managers and the director to ensure that laboratory transition activities are adequately identified, scheduled in a logical sequence, task budgets are fully developed and the tasks executed in accordance to plan, as well as leading post activity analyses to determine optimization opportunities for follow-on activities.

The Transition Coordinator shall be responsible for the development of significant internal partnerships with the NML users and managers ensuring that they are able to move from the existing Analytical Laboratory to the NML in a manner that allows them to continue with the sample analysis process required for achievement of the Safeguards mandates. In addition, the Transition Coordinator, as a member of the Project Management Group, works in concert with the PMG team members to develop a project plan for the transition, monitor progress against the project plan, develop lessons learned from previous transition activities and identify risks associated with on-going/upcoming activities for corrective actions as needed.

The consultant shall deliver the following data items:

- Development of a structured Transition Plan
- Development of Project Management information that describes the scope, schedule and budget
- Regular (monthly) delivery of Project Management information related to the transition activities
- On-going analysis of problems encountered/expected and corrective measures

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

- The Transition Coordinator needs to be a clear communicator and also bring a solid understanding of analytical laboratory operations into the process of supporting the Laboratory Transition by effectively planning and coordinating the day to day activities associated with the move.
- Interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with a wide range of technical and management personnel are needed as well as the ability to communicate with interested external stakeholders as required.
- Proven coordination and leadership in a technical, results based environment is needed, as well as the ability to clearly plan transition activities, analyse on-going performance and identify corrective actions, including cost/schedule consequences.
- Candidate shall demonstrate a minimum of 15 years' experience in the Planning and Engineering or Architecture of complex technical, engineering or architectural projects or programs as well as direct experience in the management of the same. Demonstrated experience in laboratory management (particularly nuclear) preferred.
- Very good in English.
