Laboratory Technician Job

LABORATORY ASSISTANT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in WILMINGTON, DE.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Extract genomic DNA from large numbers of plant samples to amplify DNA fragments of interest by PCR, clone such DNA fragments and submit them for sequencing.
- Compare the returned sequences to reference sequences to identify modifications.
- Present sequence analysis results in sequence alignment files and summarize the results in Word and Excel files.
- Good record keeping to keep track of multiple projects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Biology/biochemistry/biotechnology required
- Trained in molecular biology, biochemistry, or biotechnology with hands on experiences in DNA extraction, PCR, and DNA cloning.
- Familiar with DNA sequence analysis programs and web based sequence searches and data mining.
