Laboratory Technician - Chemistry

SUMMARY

- Perform chemical testing on the samples of paint produced
- Use formulas to prepare and mix samples of waterborne and solvent borne automotive paints
- Prepare and spray panels with Primer, Base, Clear Coats paint samples of lash and bake panels in ovens
- Record all results in database and create spreadsheets
- Conduct inventory on raw materials

SKILLS:

EXPERIENCE

- 1 to 3 years is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ideal candidate will have prior lab experience (industry or university lab) and some college experience.
- AS or BS Degree in a science is a plus (chemistry and biology preferred).
- Experience with hand application of paint is a plus.
- Experience working with Coatings/Paint/Pigments in a lab environment is preferred but recent graduates with a degree in CHEMISTRY will be considered.
- Familiar with standard laboratory equipment and procedures
- Chemistry/Lab experience
- Coatings/Paint Experience

ASSOCIATES WITH SOME COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE ARE TYPICALLY THE BEST CANDIDATES:

- 1) Lab Experience Preferred
- 2) Organized, neat record keeping, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- 3) Paint Lab and Paint Testing Experience is a plus
- 4) Experience with Automotive OEM material specifications is a plus
- 5) Experience with hand application of paint is a plus
