Laboratory Technician/Assistant Job

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN/ASSISTANT needed for a CONTRACT position with Yoh's client located in MELVILLE, NY.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Pharmaceutical, biological or related experience preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Receives and verifies receipt of laboratory samples for accuracy, documents receipt of samples in appropriate logbook -manual entry and LIMS (where applicable). Create and receive LIMS for stabilities.
- Retrieval of laboratory documentation from the archive area(s) during FDA inspections or in the event of a laboratory investigation.
- Archive submission sheets; process QA submission sheet requests if applicable.
- Clerical responsibilities including filing of all types of laboratory reports, instrument generated data and analysts' notebooks in the laboratory area with eventual transfer to archive area.
- Log and prepare samples for shipping to contract laboratories, track shipping and receipt of test results (where applicable).
- Generate, track and receive SHAPE purchase requisitions; liaison with Purchasing Department (where applicable).
- Assist Lab Management: duties as required.
- Maintain established inventory lists of chemicals and other laboratory items and supplies.
- Receives newly purchased items and distributes to analysts; restock as required.
- Track supplies and restock inventory in laboratory.
- Assist/collection of used glassware from designated laboratory locations, cleaning of glassware using a dishwasher or by hand when necessary, restocking of clean glassware in specified areas (where applicable).
- Stock laboratory refrigerators and restock as required, including walk-in warehouse refrigerator.
- Notebook control and maintenance; preparing notebooks for laboratory areas (where applicable).
- Prepares and performs functions utilizing aseptic techniques for environmental monitoring sampling and facility water sampling and testing.
- Performs system data entry and peer review of environmental/water data.
- Supports and performs computer systems data maintenance for Environmental Monitoring Trend Reporting.
- Professionally interacts with Quality Control Department and Management, Quality Assurance, and other departments.
- This position may require the labeling, packaging or movement of hazardous (flammable, corrosive, toxic, etc.) waste within the facility. If so, this employee would be trained in these subjects as per applicable local, state and/or federal regulations.
- Uphold all company safety requirements.
- Skills: Pharmaceutical, biological or related experience preferred.
