Laboratory Assistant Job

LABORATORY ASSISTANT needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in NEWARK, DE.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- DNA/RNA purification
- SDS-PAGE
- Western Blot

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Involved in various research projects for the Predictive Sciences group
- Perform routine tissue culture of primary or immortalized cells
- Perform studies using cell line-based in vitro assays
- Perform DNA/RNA purification, PCR including primer design, reverse-transcription and quantitative Real Time PCR
- Perform library preparation for next-generation sequencing applications
- Perform SDS-PAGE, western Blot, Elisa, immunoprecipitation, or other antibody-based methods
- Preparation of buffers, basic wet chemistry calculations and performing serial dilutions
- Writing and revising technical documents including lab standard operating procedures (SOPs), testing protocols and reports.
- Statistical analysis of data and preparation of reports or research papers based on the results of the assays performed
- Schedule maintenance or repair for lab equipment, order lab supplies and routine safety inspections

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelors degree in related scientific field
- Previous laboratory experience
