Laboratory Assistant

LABORATORY ASSISTANT

MY CLIENT, A LEADING PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY BASED IN PIRBRIGHT IS URGENTLY SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED LABORATORY ASSISTANT TO JOIN THE TEAM FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 MONTHS WITH POTENTIAL FOR EXTENSION. THIS IS A FULL TIME ROLE WORKING 37 HOURS PER WEEK.

TO PARTICIPATE IN THE QC RESTRICTED TESTING OF IN PROCESS SAMPLES, WATER AND VACCINES AND ASSIST IN THE SAMPLING AND IDENTIFICATION OF RAW MATERIALS IN THE RESTRICTED AREA.

WATER TESTING

- Perform LAL endotoxin, bacteriological (TVC) and Total Organic Compounds (TOC) on water samples.
- Assist in sampling of water samples when necessary

RAW MATERIALS

- Assist in raw material sampling when required
- Assist in sample dispatch to contract laboratories when required

ROUTINE LABORATORY DUTIES

- Order glassware and consumables from warehouse when necessary
- Operation of the autoclave for all waste items that require disposal within the restricted area.
- Weekly preparation of citric acid and aliquoting into spray bottles for each lab area.
- Preparing weekly manometer sheets
- Regular cleaning of sample login area, goods lift, shelving for glassware and consumables, sample pots and laundry area.
- Monthly LAFU cleaning and environmental monitoring
- Filing and archiving of record sheets
- Bi weekly dunk tank replenishment with FAM

ESSENTIAL:

- Experience of Biology within a Lab environment
- Sterility Experience
- Good people skills as very enclosed area.
- Driving Licence
