Laborant/Lab Technician/QA Associate

The accountabilities and responsibilities of the Lab Technician are to:

- Conduct a variety of tasks in a biology or chemistry laboratory requiring specific scientific or technical knowledge and laboratory techniques (including pH, HPLC, CE, UV) according to regular input from supervisor;
- Provide basic data analysis and may provide assistance in design of next experiment;
- Document own experiment in lab notebook (including tables, graphs, etc.);
- Present results to supervisor;
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure
- Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge in discipline to complete work assignments.
- Exhibit an understanding and knowledge of techniques, instrumentation and underlying principles.
- Perform duties with appropriate knowledge of relevant laboratory tools and procedures.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on instruments.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.
- Conduct activities according to the appropriate SOP, GMP guidlince.
- Conduct activities in compliance with safety, waste disposal and other regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of SOPs for department, where appropriate.
- Understand and follow established health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures applicable to particular function.
- Identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.
- Complete training as required and use laboratory and personal protective equipment as required.
- Document GMP experiments and results in lab notebook and as appropriate.

Know-how: Work collaboratively with team. Participate constructively in working teams and at lab meetings. Offer assistance to co-workers. Apprenticeship as Lab Technician (or BS or equivalent) in scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry, or pharmacology. At least 2-3 years of experience in the lab. Strong interpersonal skills.

Good understanding of English (oral and written) is essential. Basic German understanding.
