Lab Technician with Chemistry

Perform chemical testing on the samples of paint produced

- Use formulas to prepare and mix samples of waterborne and solvent borne automotive paints
- Prepare and spray panels with Primer, Base, Clear Coats paint samples and bake panels in ovens
- Record all results in database and create spreadsheets
- Conduct inventory on raw materials
- Perform physical and appearance testing on panels, such as: Water Soak, QCT, gas immersion, Adhesion Testing Tukon, Gravelometer Testing, High Performance Chipping and so forth as defines in customer specifications
- Use of a respirator is optional in this position.

SKILLS:

- Must be Familiar with standard laboratory equipment and procedures
- Experience working with Coatings/Paint/Pigments in a lab environment and Paint Testing is preferred. Experience with hand application of paint is a plus.
- Experience 1 to 3 years is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ideal candidate will have prior lab experience (industry or university lab) and some college experience. AS or BS Degree in a science is a plus (chemistry and biology preferred).
- Organized, neat record keeping, ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Experience with Automotive OEM material specifications is a plus
