LAB TECHNICIAN needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
The Big Picture - Top Skills Should You Possess:

What You'll Be Doing:
- Technical processing of multiple biological products with direct responsibility for the proper handling, transfer and storage of cryopreserved products.
- Completion and review of batch records and the entry of processing data into client database.
- Operation of laboratory processing equipment (ie Biological Safety Cabinets, clean rooms, centrifuges, controlled rate freezers). Perform daily maintenance of instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and allocate reagents used during processing.
- Participate in non-conformance investigations and CAPA determination with the focus on determining root cause.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with OSHA safe practices.
- Verification of receipt of all biomaterials. Determine adherence to collection protocols for all products, appropriately documenting protocol variances for each.
- Prepare, label and document transfer of biomaterials to the appropriate processing laboratories. Verify records created.
- Process the receipt of all material delivered, complete all applicable documentation, release all items as appropriate and deliver all packages to intended recipients/departments. Responsibilities include the completion of all Raw Material Monographs and provider assessments.
- Assemble, document and transfer processing kits to the laboratories. Maintain kit supply levels.
- Evaluate inventory supply for all processes.
- Create and submit purchase orders. Fulfill daily laboratory stock requests.
- Prepare items for and/or assist staff with shipment of items from CCT.
- Flexible scheduling required.
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- 4 year degree in science related study (Biology, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures/rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Must be able to communicate effectively with institutional personnel, medical staff, donors, and accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to consistently perform various manual laboratory duties and techniques on time sensitive material with accurate and precise manipulations.
- A basic knowledge in various computer applications.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Ability to perform frequent physical tasks with strength and mobility.
- Technologists daily tasks call for extensive walking, standing and occasional lifting of heavy materials.
- Frequent visual demands require macroscopic and microscopic observations.
- Employees must work in areas where posted Universal Precautions must be observed and practiced.
- There is repeated contact with potential infectious blood products with subsequent risks of acquired infections.
- Technologists work daily with potentially harmful and/or hazardous agents including asphyxiating gases (nitrogen), potentially carcinogenic and/or inflammable chemical reagents and sharps.
