Lab Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Under general supervision, this job independently performs non-routine laboratory applications, performs calculations, maintains documentation via lab notebooks and other record keeping, and provides technical support to -Project Managers to test performance of flavor systems in application and to resolve technical issues (internal & external).
- Performs more complex and investigational procedures or assist in troubleshooting or analysis of equipment, methods, application formulas and procedures.
- Based on team input organizes the tasks (weighing, applications, panels) independently and arranges urgencies and priorities together with requestor when needed.
- Maintains laboratory stock of raw materials required to create flavors and applications and keeps all equipment and the workspace clean in concordance with H&S requirements.
- Executes independently application testing with new and existing raw materials and flavors, evaluates and interprets the results of application testing and propose corrective measures and prepares and participates to applications tasting sessions.
- Utilizes computer technology for data entry/retrieval and calculations.

SKILLS:

Typically requires high school graduate or equivalent knowledge to that included in high school level, or equivalent college chemistry courses.

- 3-5 years at the Laboratory Assistant level.
- Requires familiarity with the techniques, equipment, processes and procedures of applications laboratory and related areas (eg, quality control, research, etc) and any applicable company and regulatory requirements (eg, good manufacturing practices, good laboratory practices, occupational safety and health, etc.).
- Ability to work in a team environment, dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic.
- Experience in Confectionery industry/application preferred.
