Lab Technician

We are currently seeking Lab Technician for a 5 month contract position in San Antonio, TX. Opening for an entry-level position in a quality assurance microbiology lab at a local soap manufacturing  facility. Candidate will perform QC checks on samples and environmental monitoring and document results.

Skills:

- Requires an Associates degree or Bachelors of Science in biology or microbiology.
- Experience with aseptic technique and microorganism identification is highly preferred.
- Candidate should have relevant labwork or coursework and be motivated to excel in a fast-paced setting.
- Candidate must have a flexible schedule.
- Experience with HPLC, GC, UV, FTIR is desired.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry also preferred.
- Experience in microbiology is required.
- Must be flexible to work any shift and will be asked to rotate.
- Steel-toed shoes required, can wear blue jeans (no bling), shirts must be long sleeve and tucked in, and Safety Glasses.

Responsibilities:

- Performs review and approval of chemical test results for testing performed by other lab technicians.
- Analyses include wet chemical methods, chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, environmental monitoring and bioburden testing of water, raw material and final product.
- The position also coordinates lab workload and performs review and approval of test results.
