Lab Engineer

The Lab Manager will be responsible for providing services that enable a test/engineering laboratory inside the world's most recognizable software corporation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Image and deploy Server OS Configurations
- Rack, unrack, cable, test and troubleshoot server and network hardware
- Create, update, and publish a valid inventory of all equipment in multiple physical locations
- Schedule and coordinate resource usage among various projects and engineers
- Implement/maintain lab hardware/software monitoring systems
- Maintain "as-built" documentation

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- 3-5 years of related work experience
- Familiarity with common server hardware (Dell, HP standalone and blades), networking gear (Cisco, F5), and remote access solutions (RBAC, ILO)
- Familiarity with deployment and imaging of Windows Server and Window client system
- Solid TCP/IP Networking experience on the Windows client and Server platforms, including good network troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with hardware/software monitoring services
- Familiarity with Windows Server Hyper-V configuration and operation (In particular, strong use of System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and strong customer-focus skills

BONUS SKILLS:

- Familiarity with network sniffers
- Knowledge of a Scripting language (PowerShell, CMD, Perl, etc.)
- SCVMM, SCOM

This contract position is expected to be 3 months in duration.
