Lab Automation Specialist

Yoh has a four (4) month+ contract position for a LAB AUTOMATION SPECIALIST to join our client in San Francisco, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintain systems in a regulated state at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting for lab automation systems in a GLP environment.
- Support end users by identifying, resolving, documenting and communicating issues.
- Setup, programming, configuration, and testing of lab automation and scientific software systems.
- Perform and document experiments to optimize automated liquid handling systems.
- Author high-quality system documentation such as SOPs, working documents, and user manuals.
- Train end users.
- Work with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the validation phase of the project (as needed).
- Work with end users to configure software and define business process to meet their needs
- The scope of systems includes Tecan Evo ELISA Stations, Hamilton STAR dilutors, as well as many other systems and software supporting large molecule drug development. This position will require occasional work or contact with biohazardous, cytotoxic, and radioactive materials, using appropriate safety precautions.
- This position requires the occasional lifting of equipment or lab supplies weighing approximately 30lbs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS in a Technical or Scientific field.
- Hands-on experience with lab automation and familiarity with ligand binding assays and/or drug development with - Five (5) years of experience in a related lab automation role.
- The ability to organize complex information and communicate clearly is critical.
- Ability to work in a regulated environment where you must think before you act.
- Knowledge of GLP regulations and computer system validation is desired.
- This position requires excellent verbal and written communication and a strong customer focus. The candidate should be self-directed, while comfortable excelling in a fast-paced environment, and multi-tasking.
