Lab Assistant

Monitor and clean laboratory equipment, assist with microbiological procedures, maintain supply of testing supplies, file laboratory records and entry of laboratory data into spreadsheets.

- Prepare and maintain mammalian cell cultures, microbial cultures as directed;
- Perform aseptic laboratory procedures independently;
- Apply Good Lab Practice (GLP) and Good Mfg Practice (GMP) to assigned work;
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete;
- Learn and demonstrate understanding of basic sterilization principles;
- Learn and comply with regulatory requirements such as 9CFR, EU;
- Understand and use production schedules;
- Use word processor, database, and spreadsheets to compile and report results.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of 2 years related college coursework or equivalent lab experience required.
- Possess a working knowledge of common lab equipment and procedures, aseptic technique and the metric system.
- Ability to routinely lift 20-50 lbs.
- Organized and ability to multitask
- Experience using Microsoft Word and excel
- Some college level science coursework
- Basic math skills
- Experience performing processes using aseptic technique
- Experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) desired
