Junior Wireless Network Engineer

JUNIOR WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER

4 MONTH INITIALLY WITH POTENTIAL TO EXTEND. START ASAP - INTERVIEWS END OF NEXT WEEK.

Our client is a leading Australian institution looking for a dedicated and experienced Cisco Network Engineer with more specific experience around wireless technologies

The purpose of this role is to work alongside a more senior engineer to ensure our client receives excellent technical support to maintain and upgrade all aspects of their network from a wireless perspective

Due to the nature of this contract this is a very hands on role requiring an experienced, technically astute junior engineer.
The client infrastructure is predominately Cisco with Routers and Switches numbering in the high hundreds connecting multiple geographically diverse sites.
You will be setting up, configuring, maintaining and administering multiple access points, so strong services experience required.

The ideal candidate will have experience with a technology vendor or systems integrator implementing Cisco wireless systems and solutions

Worked on large programs/projects and familiar with project management approaches, tools and Service Life Cycle Change
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues in a team environment. The incumbent must also have the ability to feedback on processes undertaken
Experience with large multi sites locations (2000+ Access Points)
Verbal and written communication skills
Hands on experience with implementing Cisco's wireless products
Some knowledge and experience with design and implementation of high density wireless solutions
Hands on experience with Cisco Wireless Access Points, and some knowledge of Cisco wireless
controllers (such as WISM 2 Controllers) and related technologies (Cisco Identity Services Engine)
Some Experience with network services such as DHCP, Subnets and VLANs
Some experience with Cisco WCS/NCS Prime
Experience preparing wireless coverage (heat) maps and assessments, using applications such as AirMagnet
Some experience and Knowledge of physical considerations of Access Point Installation and antenna configuration
Some experience of deployment of Cisco outdoor Access Point solutions
Experience with wireless device configuration models (Windows, Mac, Android, IPAD etc)
Experience in requirements gathering

AT LEAST 3+ YEARS CISCO WIRELESS SUPPORT/IMPLEMENTATION EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE AND PROVEN LEVEL 2 SUPPORT EXPERIENCE. CISCO CERTS PREFERABLE.
