Junior Web Developer

For one of its clients, located in Luxemburg, Harvey Nash is currently looking for a

JUNIOR DEVELOPER

Location: Luxemburg

Duration: 7 months

Scope of work:

The client is using a training support platform. This training support platform plays an important role regarding the support to units who are in charge of delivering training (internally or externally). Due to the new project requests and the limited internal resources, the client needs external assistance to be able to deliver on time and with the adequate level of quality.

- Development of an administration tool to support the charging process for courses
- Maintenance and extension of existing administration tools to support the registration of students
- Configuration of the training support platform
- Ad-hoc development of reports on the training administration data

This assistance will constitute of:

- Analysis and Solution Design
- Development
- Testing

Requirements:

- Proven experience in contacts with end users for software development projects (at least 6 months experience on projects)
- Ability to analyse, interpret and document user requirements.
- Ability to support key users during the roll-out of developments
- Have a proactive attitude to communication and the project management process.
- The languages of the agency are French and English. The person shall be fluent in one of the language of the agency and have a working knowledge of the other.
- (asset) Have a good understanding of the training management domain to allow fast learning of new projects and effective communication with project managers.
- Be able to document technical designs and developments in English to ensure hand over of maintenance and update of work developed
- Have proven experience with the development of web based applications (at least 6 months experience on such projects)
- Have proven experience with the design of Graphical User Interface (at least 6 months experience on projects involving that technology)
- Have proven knowledge of development using ASP (at least 6 months experience on projects involving that technology)
- Have proven knowledge of MS-SQL Database (at least 6 months experience on projects involving that technology)
- Have proven knowledge of Javascript and HTML (at least 6 months experience on projects involving these technologies)
- Be able to design web pages in line with corporate brand guidelines
- Have proven knowledge of Web Services (at least 3 months experience on projects involving that technology)
- Have proven knowledge of Windows Server environment and windows server components IIS (at least 3 months experience on projects involving that technology)
- Debug problems as and when they arrive.
- Develop in a manner to facilitate future browser compatibility, maintenance and update.
- Document all developments to enable others to maintain and update.
- (asset) Have knowledge of the software CLIX from Im-C (6 months experience on projects involving that software)
- (asset) Provide guidance on the best technical approaches to take for in-house IT designers and flag up new web based application related developments.
