GENERAL:

This is a junior CPE Test Technician role that is part of a dynamic multi-disciplined team delivering an exciting next generation TV and multimedia service into the telecommunications and TV market in Ireland. Working in a company that is a Pan-European leader in telecommunications and TV services, the key function of the role is to provide expertise in the testing of next generation customer-premises equipment (CPE) in support of the successful launch of this new and highly innovative service into the Irish market.

ROLE:

- Experienced Test Engineer with responsibility for carrying out test routines on the project
- Work closely with the Test Coordinator and Project Test Lead
- Create and execute tests in line with the Test Strategy for the infrastructure and CPE
- Set up and maintain test environments in line with provided test configurations
- Conduct test procedures that align with and support agreed code release cycle
- Follow agreed test methodologies and best practice
- Produce test reports for each test cycle, outlining conclusions and recommendations

TEST ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

- 1 YEAR AS A TEST ENGINEER OR ENGINEER ROLE, PREFERABLY WITHIN A TELECOMMUNICATIONS OR TV OPERATIONS ENVIRONMENT
- Knowledge with implementation and documentation of test procedures
- Good working knowledge of DVB and DTV related infrastructure
- A genuine interest in mobile operating systems (iOS, Android, etc), games consoles (Xbox, PlayStation and Wii) and how these consumer electronics devices InterconnecT in the home

DESIRABLE:

- FAMILIAR WITH HOME NETWORKING STANDARDS (WIFI, DLNA, MOCA, ETC.)
- Familiar with VoIP and cable broadband (DOCSIS) standards
- Experience in the testing of Set Top Box and media gateways is highly desirable
- Experience with release and testing of software is desirable
