Junior Technical Analyst

What you'll do:

We are currently looking for a Junior Technical Analyst covering all applications of the our Finance domain. The maintenance model of our Financial applications is a mix of internal support and vendor outsourcing in a on-premise and external hosting model. The main applications in scope are Oracle eBusiness Suite and OBIEE, WKFS Financial Studio.

Thanks to the on-the-job coaching more experienced colleagues will provide, you will gradually:

- Follow up the production incidents to make sure that the technical problems and deficiencies are detected, analyzed and corrected
- Coordinate with the software vendor/maintenance outsourcing and ensure investigations are performed on all application issues and effective resolutions are provided
- Assist in technical processes and provide an effective interface to the vendors
- Deliver various technical aspects of the solution (especially on the integration side): like implement File Transfer jobs, develop ETL jobs, develop integration scripts, develop queries/reports
- On a functional side, you will support the requirements determination and the testing of the maintenance to keep and enhancing the business system
- Determine proper installation parameters for smooth integration and efficiency and coordinate with the vendor on these aspects
- Coordinate the delivery of Financial maintenances with the end-users and/or with other technical teams

In the longer term, you will take a coordination role in the Financial projects to ensure a smooth delivery of the project scope on time, on budget, and with the expected quality. Including management of the staffing between Internal Resources, vendors and monitor/report budget

Profile:

You have an accounting background with a strong interest for the IT used in the field, or someone having an IT background and an acute curiosity for Financial Business or even proven Financial experience.

We are not looking per se for a developer but for someone with a hands-on approach/behavior. Nowadays packages don't require extensive technical skills, but the integration of those packages in our complex infrastructure required affinity with technical IT activities and some light technical skills to implement ad-hoc components.
You must be willing to learn and understand Financial Business aspects and their integration in the infrastructure

For the more technical/functional side of the job, the following skills are key:

- Analytical mindset
- Logical reasoning
- Knowledge of (or strong willingness to learn/training will be provided):
- ETL concepts (mainly SSIS)
- Integration mechanisms (like C:D transfer, XPS jobs)
- Financial packages

The coordination part of the mission requires the following:
- Very good communication skills (both verbally and in written)
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- You are customer-focused, service-oriented and business-minded
- You are a good relationship builder with diplomacy skills and able to work with people in different areas or divisions.
- You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills. You know how to break down complex problems that stretch out over several domains into smaller pieces to understand logical links and dependencies. You can distinguish essential information and summarise it accordingly. You see how information is linked and you recognise common patterns in elements that seem unrelated at first

Required skills:

- English fluency
- SQL knowledge and basic knowledge of a programming language

- Basic knowledge of ITIL processes

Desired skills:

- Experience with Financial Studio
