PHP Developer & IT Systems Assistant - Lancashire

Part of your role will include programming using PHP, Java and SQL to further develop the Service Management System. You will be part of small dynamic team that develops processes and supporting system changes to facilitate a fast growing and changing company.

Their Service Management System has been developed by a third party and the company in partnership. It is this system that enables to them to manage products through their processes. It has a substantial function set, ranging from standard functions such as stock control and parts ordering to more advanced functions such as Real Time XML interfaces with customers and couriers.

The development road map takes them to new, uncharted and challenging functions to code. They want you to be part of that journey which will provide you with an excellent opportunity to show them your skills as well as learn from their team.

Besides the programming this role will also be an opportunity to experience other elements of IT support, maintenance and development that you can expect from a company of their size, though your main role will be to support the development roadmap of their system.

Person Spec
Key Requirements:
*Web development
*Programming in PHP
*SQL databases
*Business processes
*Ability to interact with different people and departments.
*Show initiative, self-drive and a desire to bring tasks to completion
*Willingness to work outside normal working hours to support maintenance or development projects.

Desirable Skills:
*Other programming languages: Java and HTML are desirable
*A good understanding of:
oWindows client OS (XP, Vista, 7, 2003 R2 and 2008 R2)
oNetwork (TCP/IP) and standard network protocols: DNS, DHCP, HTTP(S), FTP, WLAN, etc.
oEmail clients/Exchange
