Junior Information System Security Consultant

My client is an international IT security consultancy and to work onsite at one of their partners in Brussels (governmental institution)

I am currently looking for a Junior Information System Security Consultant (ISS consultant) on a day rate contract basis for 12 months.

Fluent French and English are prerequisites for this role.

TASKS

Under the supervision of the System Security Officer (SSO), the ISS Consultant will be tasked to:

- Enhance the design, the implementation and review the documentation of secure communication channels for the Union Registry stakeholders including Member State National Administrators, EC Contractors and EC personal. Technologies used are: S/MIME, X509 digital certificates, file encryption software.
- Review bug reports, assess potential security issue and suggest remediation for the EUCR/EUTL web-application. Technologies used: WebLogic, Oracle, SOAP, Java, Web application.
- Review and update the security incident management plan of the System in coordination with the other stakeholders DIGIT and EC Directorate of Security (DS).
- Review the information classification policy and the relevant handling instructions with the view of having DS approval including approval for use of specific security tools.
- Review and update Security operating procedures of the system and other security guidance documents.
- Provide advices on the security architecture design for some part of the system.
- Provide support to any task in relation with the security of the Union Registry as required by the SSO.

EXPERTISE REQUIRED

- ISS Policies development.
- Assets management.
- Communication and operations security management in particular operational security procedures, network, system and Middleware security.
- Security in SDLC.
- Information system security in a governmental/public administration environment and/or in banking/finance sector. Experience within a security authority (National, NATO, EU or other) would be an advantage.
