Junior Financial Analyst

Our client, a pharmaceutical company located in Brussels, is currently looking for a JUNIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST to reinforce the FINANCE DEPARTMENT during a maternity leave. The JUNIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST will work at our client in Brussels for at least 4 months.

Scope of work:

* Assist in the FINANCIAL PLANNING, BUDGETING AND ANALYSIS processes and activities.
* Provide FINANCIAL AND ANALYTICAL SUPPORT for BUDGET MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL REPORTING AND FORECASTING PROCESSES.
* Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the division's performance against historical, budgeted and forecasted planning results to facilitate decision-making.
* Assist the business units and other GHH and GSF departments on ad-hoc financial analysis.

Support to local Management and Business Units:
* Prepare ongoing financial analysis and reporting for Business units and other departments.
* Integrate financial analysis with market analysis (Sales performance, market share evolution, price-volume variances)
* Prepare and analyze division's performance, report and analyze sales and expense variances
* Provide support to the Business Development projects and to the Market Access department for price related files

Reporting:
* Prepare and submit monthly closing reports and perform results analysis, including review of commitments and accruals
* Prepare HQ monthly results commentaries
* Prepare Monthly Manager Reports
* Assist in providing feedback on ad-hoc questions or requests for information from HQ

Planning:
* Assist in the planning and forecasting processes (EA's, PP, and LROP) including system load, input and maintenance.
* Prepare the templates, data collections, forecasting, analysis, and system reports
* Prepare projects forecast and analysis

Budgeting:
* Monitor and track actual and committed expenses and analyze variances vs. budget
* Assist in maintenance of the Business Units/departmental budgets.
* Provide regular updates on spend, commitments, trends

Others:
* Maintain controls to ensure integrity and compliance
* Assist in internal and external audits by providing information and analysis
* Participate in training on financial topics
* Participate in finance driven projects.
* Assist in developing improved financial analysis and utilization of business systems needed for local management to better and faster decision making on revenues and expenses.
* Increase financial reporting and analysis quality to help manage the profitability of Belgium activities and accurately forecast the company's results.

Requirements:

- 1 to 5 years of experience in financial analysis
- Preferably Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Strong communication, analytical and data organization/interpretation skills
- Proven ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks and work independently
- Attention to details and accuracy is required
- Experience in pharmaceutical industry is an advantage
- Prior forecasting and reporting experience is a plus
- Fluent in English, Dutch and French
