JUNIOR BUSINESS OFFICER

INTERIM CONTRACT

PAY RATE: £70 - £100 PER DAY

FULL TIME: 37 HOURS PER WEEK

LOCATION: COUNTY HALL, CHELMSFORD

At Essex County Council we have an outstanding track record in delivering organisational transformation. Over the last three years we have delivered over £300m of savings whilst working hard to improve services to our customers. We are now embarking upon our second phase of transformation, which will see us complete our journey to becoming a commissioning-led, outcomes based organisation whilst delivering a 3 year programme of cost-cutting, innovative projects.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Junior Business Officer to be based within the ITIL Service Management team - who work closely with the technical resources within Information Services but are not responsible for the technical management of any element of the IT infrastructure. The post holder will be supporting Business Officers who are responsible for Service Operations and Service Transition as well as driving Continual Service Improvement.

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY

The post holder will be responsible for a range of support duties, including compiling statistics, data gathering, data entry and data analysis. Working in a fast paced environment, the ideal candidate thrives under pressure and is quick to build rapport, with a keen interest in IT Service Management. They will also be self-motivated, self-aware and manages their own workload whilst adding a valuable contribution as a strong team player.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- A-C grades in English, Maths and Science at GCSE level.
- ITIL© Foundation qualification would be very advantageous.
- Strong MS Office 2010 skills, with particular strengths in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience of working in an IT support function would be beneficial, but a willingness to learn is equally adequate.
- Able to evidence being organised, methodical and logical is also expected of the successful candidate.
