Junior Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join our client, a financial institution, in Amsterdam on a short contract ending 31/12/2014.

This function occurs within several IT Solutions departments of the bank and it concerns a generic function. Our client has adopted a Data Centric Security concept and created a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) architecture. Within the Security Base program several projects are delivering security building blocks supporting new services. These services will be managed by vendors for infrastructure management and application development maintenance, and the internal functional management department. GARM project The Guardian Angel Release Management (GARM) project establishes the test, acceptance and production environments for Guardian Angel. Furthermore it takes the components provided by other Security Base projects and compiles them into a working solution, tests them, and deploys them into production. Finally it arranges service support and release management for Guardian Angel. Business Advisor The GARM project is looking for a (junior) Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will support the project coordinator with the execution of analysis tasks with reference to deliverables, processes, financials, management information and dependencies. The goal of these tasks is to create the right solutions for effective and efficient project processes and keep track of the status of the project. The Business Analyst will also support the project coordinator with the development of new stage plans for the continuation of the project.

Required functional/technical competences:
*Bachelor's/academic degree
*Must: Strong Excel knowledge
* Must: Experience with creating (MI) reports
*Must: 1-3 years relevant work experience
* Pro: MS Project knowledge
*Pro: Experience in large scale IT projects in a technical organizational complex environment
*Pro: Experience within an application development environment and with some awareness of infrastructure implications of application development
* Pro: banking experience

* Gathers insight in the business and in the IT domain.
*Provides business/technical information to support envolved parties.
*Provides required reports.
*Ensures established standards and techniques are applied.
*Coordinates user acceptance part of IT tests.
* Evaluates if business requirements for the tested IT subject are satisfied and maintains required test logs, records and reports. Depending on the test results, implements the IT subject into the Mainframe or provides adjustments.
* Checks whether agreements have been complied with the parties concerned.. Provides information for best practices and learning Knowledge Communication Explanation Knowledge Communication skills required to perform the tasks on requested level (ie teamplayer).
* Bachelor (NL: HBO) in Business, IT or related subject.
*Experience within an application development environment and with some awareness of infrastructure implications of application development
* Experience of all phases of the development life cycle eg analysis, design and testing
*Experience in the financial services industry
*Experience in assisting business units to define business requirements
*Experience in communicating business requirements to vendors
*Experience leading and working with individuals and teams from diverse cultures
*Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Lotus Notes
*Competent in the use of IT tools and application relevant to the job
*Excellent command of written/verbal business English ( additional location language requirements)
*International orientation - prepared to travel internationally, work experience in an international context (preferable)
