Junior BI Developer

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the large-scale data solutions that support software products and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Development and implementation of strategies to combine operational and historical data and make it available to users in a shared, secure and controlled manner
- Enhancement and maintenance of existing database products - from the development of new functionality, to small scale redesign, to bug fixing if necessary
- Creation of specifications, design and other documentation as necessary to facilitate the development and support of Datawarehouse applications
- Provide data support, perform file tests and modify programs as required

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

- Efficient database design and experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies: Analysis Services, T-SQL and Integration Services
- Strong academic background - IT, maths, physics, engineering and statistics all highly regarded
- Successful development of maintainable, extensible, high performance Datawarehouse application architectures
- Strong performance tuning abilities for OLTP and OLAP DBs, T-SQL and MDX
- Experience in the design and implementation of mid-large scale databases and or business systems
- Previous experience in dimensional modelling, DW design and SSAS development
- Experience developing, documenting, and supporting ETL processes
- Excellent communication skills required to interact with individuals of varying technical ability
- Understanding and passion for data quality assurance and process improvement
- Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to multitask
- Effective time management to complete projects and activities within agreed deadlines
