JUNIOR APPLICATION SUPPORT BANKING
Our client, headquartered in Zurich, is an important subsidiary of a global company in the finance industry.
We are looking for a junior application supporter to work on FX applications. For this contract position based in Zürich, our client is looking for a candidate who can start as soon as possible.
Role:
- Provide professional 1st/2nd Level Support (technical facing) for FX Applications (Currency Exchange Markets, Money Markets, and Derivatives) core and associated upstream/downstream applications.
- Work within max 8-person team providing office hours and on-call support. On-call rotation would be 1 in 6 weeks.
- Work & liaise with 1st Level Support, 2nd level Investigations and 3rd Level Support
- Development teams and associated Unix, Windows, Database and others as appropriate.
- Specific duties will be split between primary RTB work (above) and secondary CTB project work (preparation for production go-live, testing and preparation for deployments)
RTB:
- Investigation and resolution of incoming issues (incidents, service requests) from Business according to ITIL-based Incident Management process.
- Active ownership of open incidents - ensure resolution or workaround and escalation to Problem Management as appropriate and participation in NPLs/MIRs as required.
- Timely and accurate communication to Business and to other Support teams.
- Documentation and maintenance of per-application support procedures.
- Cross-training colleagues in the applications and underlying technologies and infrastructure forming the Treasury applications (FX/MM/PM) landscape.
- Engagement in knowledge transfer or Support hand-over process from 2nd/3rd level or vendors to ensure capture of Support requirements at an early stage and avoid loss of know-how.
Skills:
Required:
Ability to be able to support applications in a low-latency trading environment including:
- 6-12 months experience in application support
- Unix applications (Weblogic + bash Scripting) as well as a basic understanding of unix processes and file handling (log files etc)
- Windows based applications including web applications hosted on IIS
- Database querying (SQL) and an understanding of relational-database DDL
- Dealing with business queries within the trading & sales environment in a high-pressure business
- Ability to be able to communicate across a wide spectrum of stakeholders including senior managers within the business and IT
- Keen learner and someone who is seeking a long-term career
- English language essential.
Highly desired:
- Previous experience in performing trading support within an FX environment for a financial services organization
- Understanding of the development life cycle and ability to be able to influence this to benefit production delivery
- German language desirable
