Junior Application Developer

APPLICATION DEVELOPER

This is an application developer position supporting configuration of all aspects of the Georgia Department of Revenue applications. This person will perform requirements gathering and analysis, application development, software debugging, application testing, preparation of implementation specifications and production application support. 

Candidate must possess good understanding of different software development methodologies; both traditional and Agile.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates must possess a degree in:

- Computer Science
- Computer/Management Information Systems, or
- Mathematics
- Information Technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge and experience working with software development organizations
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming
- Experience in Visual Studio .NET (C# and/or VB programming language) preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, coding best practices and debugging procedures
- Working knowledge of SQL server or Oracle databases preferred
