Junior Application Developer

Company based in DULUTH, GA is currently seeking a JUNIOR APPLICATION/SQL DEVELOPER for a CONTRACT position. The candidate will need to have some web development background to assist in developing innovative business applications, services, and software solutions to help need our internal and client needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in development of data-driven applications and tools for a Windows environment; find efficient Client Server solutions; and an in-depth understanding of the software development life cycle. This individual should possess excellent communication skills; ability to work well within a team environment with a results-oriented attitude, and experience developing applications and software based solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Application/SQL development for a Windows based environment following guidelines and project requirements exactly
- Full life cycle development including testing plans and production implementation
- Work closely with Project Managers and other members of the Development Team to both develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Support co-workers in any way possible to ensure that all projects are successful
- Complete projects on time exceeding quality standards
- Ensure a positive working environment by being approachable, answering questions as clearly as possible, and ensuring that answers are understood
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

- BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
- Experience working with relational database systems such as MySQL, MSSQL or Oracle and a good working knowledge of SQL, MS SQL preferred but not must
- Experience as .NET developer (C# and ASP.NET)
- Experience with HTML/XHTML and CSS
- Microsoft IIS configuration
- Experience with Javascript and frameworks such as jQuery
- Experience developing AJAX-based applications
- Experience working with XML & XSLT
- Demonstrated understanding of web services (SOAP, WCF, RESTful feeds, etc.)
- Experience in Silverlight or WPF is plus
