Junior Administrator (Websphere Applications Server)

The contract is with a consultancy in Brussels with an assignment at a large industrial client. They are seeking a Web Application Server Junior/Medior administrator, with experience in Unix environments for the customer. Description of the mission: You are part of a team providing business critical IT services at customer premises.

You will administrate and operate the Web environments (mainly WebSphere) in an underlying Unix (Aix, HPUX, Linux) environment; Secure the system availability and performance according defined service levels; Ensure, on a daily basis, the control, integrity, accessibility and security of the web environments Etc.

Education: Bachelor in IT (or higher degree) preferable

Experience:
At least 3 years of experience with WebSphere Applications Server; At least 5 years of experience in IT; Preferably 3 years experience with ITIL processes and using an ITSM tool

Technical knowledge:
Administration and operations of WebSphere Application Server (WAS), versions V6.1 and V7.0. Hands on experience with: MQ Series; WebSphere Process Server (WPS); IBM HTTP Server (IHS); WebSphere Business (WBM); Knowledge of other application Servers (eg WebLogic, Tomcat) and JBoss is an advantage Also being familiar in the WAS environment with: Installation of patches; Upgrade of applications and installation of new versions/applications; Adapt server parameters; Performance tuning, load and stress tests; Backup and restore of applications; Start/stop applications Additional Information
Start of the mission: mid-November 2012; Length of the mission: until End of January 2013 + yearly extensions; Languages: English is mandatory, French/Dutch are nice to have.
