MY CLIENT IS SEEKING A JBOSS DEVELOPER TO MIGRATE JAVA BUSINESS APPLICATIONS FROM WEBLOGIC TO JBOSS. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN ALL PHASES OF JAVA APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING SYSTEM TESTING. THE CONTRACT IS INITIALLY 5 MONTHS WITH VIEW TO EXTEND.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- The JBoss Developer will be involved in the migration of applications from Weblogic to JBoss. The applications range from simple to complex with varying levels of size, interfaces to other applications, business criticality/availability and use of JMS and ESB services.
- The developer will work alongside the teams supporting the applications who will also be involved in migrating the applications.
- Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to support team members.
- Develop, test and document robust solutions in the migration of numerous applications from a Weblogic to JBoss environment.
- Assist in estimation, design and architecture of solutions.
- Work cooperatively with the project manager, solution architect and technical support staff.
- Produce technical and operational support documentation
- Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, standards and security practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to prescribed control procedures regarding the security of information.
- Adhere to the corruption prevention and risk management plans.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Experience in all phases of Java application development including system testing utilising JBoss
- Experience in delivering JBoss administration and support
- Demonstrated experience in migrating applications from Weblogic to JBoss.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse business requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions;
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, set own priorities and manage time effectively;
