Skills required:
1-2 Years of experience with ExtJS, developing, debugging and testing ExtJS applications
1-2 Experience in Agile development methodologies including Scrum
1-2 Years of Experience with standards development tools including source control systems (ie, svn, git, Visual Source Safe), issue tracking systems (ie, Jira, Bugzilla)
1-2 Years of Experience working on a production JavaScript user interface with many users
The work includes fixing issues and developing new capabilities in an existing ExtJS application used by many users.
INTRODUCTION
A current goal for NATO is to achieve NATO-wide joint intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (JISR) interoperability enabling NATO, national, and coalition collectors to share information and collaboratively plan and manage activities.
AOSS is the OSINT collection tool that is currently used on all NATO networks.
The NCI Agency JISR Service Line provides solutions to new functionality requested in media monitoring, OSINT collection.
SCOPE OF WORK
Task Description - Tasks to be completed in the scope of work will include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:
Under direction of the Principal/Senior Scientist, perform various programming consultation/solution development activities:
Consult with the AOSS team, assist in the development, testing and deployment of the new functionality requested by the user community. Implement of fix the following non exhaustive list of issues
Fix the refresh issues in AOSS
Implement the dynamic network graph (which is now static)
Implement a deconfliction routine to minimize duplicate information
Implement a second level of categorization in the scrapbook
Keep a history of movements in the scrapbook 2.1.1.6 Link news items to images
Fix the issue of headlines being too long 2.1.1.8 Correct the image filtering
Implement the synonyms dictionary 2.1.1.10 Allow watchers to be shared by users 2.1.1.11 Allow searching by author
Improve the account request mechanism 2.1.1.13 Give visual feedback on read items 2.1.1.14 Provide a better source filtering mechanism
Correct the issues of empty documents appearing
Give a user configurable home screen (panel display chosen in preferences) 2.1.1.17 Validate watcher names before saving (avoid duplicates)
Activate the language identification 2.1.1.19 provide language filtering
Provide formatting in the report generation
Re-design the "access denied" page with the relevant links to get access 2.1.1.22 Filter duplicates in geo queries
Store search history in session 2.1.1.24 Display the sentiment analysis
Show versioning of incoming documents
