Java UI/UX Developer - Contract - to 360 Per day

Java UI/UX Software Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Responsible for all aspects of user interfaces, workflows and contribute to the framework architecture design.
•Work with users, product management, software architects and software developers to design world class user interfaces.
•Be able to work in an iterative environment, participate in grooming sessions, sprint demos and to assist developers with UI concepts and issues.
•Prioritize and scope UI/UX improvements across a large software base whilst documenting implementation details.
•Work effectively and professionally with other team members, management and 3rd parties.
•Deliver finished user interface and integrate them into the product
REQUIRED SKILLS:
•Ability to specify, design, codify and communicate the technical design of the solution to key stakeholders. This includes creating high level design (HLD) artefacts and the documentation required in order to describe the functional capability of the solution to stakeholders.
•Proven proficiency in web development with experience in Javascript, ExtJS, JQuery, HTML5 and Javascript framework
•Excellent communications skills both written and verbal are required in this role. The ability to present complex ideas in a convincing and understandable manner is a key skill.
•Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and also as part of cross-functional team in a matrix managed organisation with ability to influence others as a senior technical contributor.
•Capable of accurately planning and scheduling own work with the ability to cope with changing requirements including multiple assignments. This includes the ability to estimate software development tasks accurately and when necessary to do work breakdown for other engineers.
•Java/J2EE programming skills including experience with XML, Web Services and data transformation techniques for data extraction and analysis.
•Linux (UNIX) scripting skills including familiarity with command line utilities e.g. awk, sed etc.
•Basic database knowledge and ability to construct SQL or JDBC queries directly or via Java.
•Ability to cope with changing priorities and multiple assignments
DESIREABLE SKILLS:
•Experience with Flex an advantage
•Experience delivering Web 2.0 applications based on Restful Web Services using JSON.
•Experience with Atlassian toolset e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo
•Experience and knowledge of database technology including emerging database technologies.
•Experience with open source software Apache, Tomcat, JBoss or Linux.
•Previous experience working in an Agile or Lean development environment e.g. SCRUM
•Experience with Grails/Groovy/Python/Ruby or any other scripting languages is a plus
•Business knowledge of Telco domain
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
•BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
•6+ years of experience
