Java Test Automation Engineer - English Speaking Contract in Zurich

For a golbal client we are looking for a Java Test Automation Engineer to become Embedded into the team.

Key Responsibilities:

- We are looking for a senor test engineer with a solid technical and financial background to join one of our development teams.
- You're expected to support the team with the day to day testing activities ranging from defining and executing tests to supporting the team to build quality in.
- With testability in mind you're able to support the development of new applications and existing applications to increase the overall level of quality and provide insight and are expected to also bring practical experience with test automation.
- Actively collaborate with our on-shore and off-shore teams in software engineering, business analytics and test engineering in order to deliver trusted software into production
- Work as an Embedded Test Engineer in an agile project organization and help to build in quality into the deliverables
- Involvement in creative programs and projects with interactions to key partners across the firm

Overview of the department/team

- The IT team consist of over 60 IT specialists in different roles.
- The colleagues are distributed in small and independent scrum teams.
- 4 Teams in ZH, 2 Teams in India and 1 in Poland plus some people in supportive roles.

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:

- Define an effective quality strategy for a highly challenging project.
- Support and engage the project team to build in quality from the start. Develop stabile test automation solutions for very interlinked systems.

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

- Excellent software testing experience with 5+ years of experience in testing multi layered applications in cross functional teams.
- A good technical foundation with development experience in an OO programming language such as JAVA/JEE and familiarity with SQL.
- Hands-on experience with implementing TEST AUTOMATION on various levels of the stack and familiarity with various test automation techniques, tools and frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills to explain and extend the quality mind-set within the team
- Experience with agile development methodologies and familiarity with TDD.
- Knowledge of the financial industry
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
